In 2019, Head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil Opimakh took more than half of the annual income of the Association of Gas Producers

In 2019, the current head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil , Roman Opimakh , declared receiving more than UAH 10 million in salary from the Association of Gas Producers. At the same time, the entire annual income of the Association at that time was UAH 18.8 million. This is evidenced by the official’s declaration and the financial statements of AGC, Ukrainian News reports, Komersant ukrainskyi writes.
Thus, in the declaration for 2019, when Opimakh had just become the head of the State Service of Geology and Subsoil, he indicated that in his previous position as the head of the Association of Gas Producers he received a salary of almost UAH 10.5 million (UAH 10,407,278).

At the same time, according to the financial statements of the Association of Gas Producers, the total income of the Association for the year was UAH 18,892,000, and all annual expenses were also exactly UAH 18,892,000.
In other words, as the head of the Association, according to the official reports, Opimakh accrued a salary that is more than half of the AGP’s total annual income. At the same time, the Association, as a non-profit organisation, does not pay any taxes on this income.

The following Ukrainian gas producers are currently members of the Association: JSC Ukrgasvydobuvannya, DTEK Oil&Gas, Energy Service Company Esco-North, PrJSC MC Ukrnaftoburinnya, Zakhidnadraservice Group, Smart Energy, Geo Alliance Group, JV Poltava Petroleum Company, LLC Strynaftogaz and LLC KUB-GAZ. And the activities of the UGPA are financed, in particular, by contributions from these member companies.
It is also noted that during 2019-2022, Opimakh and his family members purchased two large apartments in Kyiv, a new car, a storage room and a parking space in the capital. In addition, Opimakh also had a loan of more than UAH 635 thousand at the time.
