At the end of last year, Andriy Pyshnyy, head of the National Bank of Ukraine, gave himself an expensive “Christmas present” — he purchased Ukrainian government bonds worth almost UAH 2.5 million. Thisis according to data from the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK).
According to a report on significant changes in property status published on the website of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NAZK), on December 16, 2025, Pyshnyy invested in government bonds issued by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
In total, the head of the NBU purchased 2,495 government bonds with a nominal value of 1,000 hryvnia each. The total amount of the transaction was 2,495,000 hryvnia.
A report on significant changes in property status was submitted on December 25, 2025.
As "Komersant Ukrainian" wrote, the euro and the dollar are breaking records.
Some experts say that the current weakening of the hryvnia is the result of deliberate decisions by the NBU, and not just market factors.
