Hail, thunderstorms and rain: what the weather will be like in Ukraine on 15-16 June

On the weekend, 15-16 June, the weather in Ukraine will be determined by a cyclone that will bring showers, squalls and hail in most regions. This weather forecast was made by Ukrainian weather forecaster Natalka Didenko, reports [Kommersant].
“The cyclone will be the main weather newsmaker this weekend. Its centre will be located over the south of Ukraine and will gradually move to the eastern regions over Saturday and Sunday,” Didenko wrote on her Facebook page.
According to the forecaster, only the western regions of Ukraine, Odesa and Vinnytsia oblasts will be under the influence of a band of high atmospheric pressure, so no precipitation is expected. Short-term thunderstorms, sometimes even heavy showers, squalls and hail are most likely to occur in the southern and eastern regions, and will also affect the central regions.
During daytime hours, the temperature is expected to reach 20…26 degrees in most regions, although during rainy hours, the mercury will drop to 17…19 degrees, and in Luhansk region – to 27…30 degrees.

On Saturday, 15 June, it will be cloudy with clearings throughout the day in Ukraine. Short-term rain is expected.
At night the thermometer will show 17…15 degrees, during the day the mercury will rise to 21…23 degrees. The wind will be north, gusting at 5-10 m/s.
Rains are expected in Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr, Kirovograd regions. In Ternopil and Rivne, drizzle is forecast. The sun will peek out from behind the clouds in Zakarpattia, Lviv, Volyn, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava and Kherson regions.
In addition, forecasters predict potentially hazardous weather conditions in the central, eastern and southern regions of Ukraine on 15 June.
Also, due to heavy rains on the rivers in the sub-basins of the Middle and Lower Dnipro (Sula, Psel, Vorskla, Oril, Samara and their tributaries), rain floods are expected in Sumy, Poltava, Kharkiv and Dnipro regions.
On the same dates, due to rains on the small rivers of the Siverskyi Donets sub-basin in Kharkiv region, water levels are expected to rise by 0.1-0.3 metres per day.
On Sunday, 16 June, it will be cloudy and clear in Ukraine. At night, the thermometer will show 17… 15 degrees, during the day the temperature will rise to 23… 25 degrees. Short-term night rain will turn into “full-fledged” precipitation and will continue throughout the day. The wind will be north-west with gusts of 3-8 m/s.
Weather in Kyiv
According to the forecast of the weather forecaster Natalia Didenko, on 15-16 June, there will be periodic rains in Kyiv, sometimes with thunderstorms. The maximum temperature over the weekend will be low, 20…22 degrees. During the rainy period, it is expected to drop to 17…20 degrees.
