eDozvol: Ukrainian exporters and importers have an opportunity to avoid delays, fines and blocked accounts

1 November 2024 14:16

Since October 31, Ukrainian entrepreneurs will be able to apply online and receive an opinion of the Ministry of Economy on the extension of deadlines for settlements in international trade. This was announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Economy, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The service has already started working in beta-testing mode and will become available en masse in December 2024. The DII team and the Ministry of Economy invite to participate in beta-testing of the new service for importers and exporters.

“We launch a service that will allow entrepreneurs to extend the terms of currency settlements without unnecessary effort and bureaucracy. This document is important to avoid penalties for delays in payment for imported or exported goods. And to make sure everything works flawlessly, let’s open the beta test! Be the first to get an opinion from the Ministry of Economy right from your laptop, without queues and paperwork. Previously, you had to submit an application and documents in person or through the Ministry of Economy portal and wait for a paper opinion. Now it will be possible to do it online, with quick feedback to correct errors”, – say the developers of the service.

According to the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko, the digitalization of the extension of the deadlines for currency settlements is what Ukrainian exporters and importers have been asking for a long time.

“Now there is no need to go to banks and government offices: documents can be submitted online in less than an hour. The system will automatically check the application, help correct errors and save time. This step will reduce the risk of delays, fines and blocked accounts. We expect that international transactions will be finalized faster, which will contribute to a faster return of currency to Ukraine,” Yuliya Sviridenko said.

At the same time, the Ministry of Economy clarified that the extension of deadlines for settlements is possible only for certain transactions for export and import of goods. The service concerns goods, the manufacture or delivery of which requires a long period of time.

Who can take part in the beta testing of the service

This can be done by all legal entities and FLPs that are engaged in foreign economic activity. During the test the service will be available for the first 100 entrepreneurs who apply for it. During the test there will be an operational support service, which will help in solving possible questions. After successful completion of the test and taking into account feedback from businesses, the service will be launched in full.
