Ukraine has begun paying out “child benefits,” and special accounts for receiving them can now be opened at Oschadbank. This was announced by the head of the government, Yulia Svyrydenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

In particular, funds under the eYasla program are beginning to be received by 1,370 people. The payment is 8,000 hryvnia per month when the mother, father, or guardian goes to work after the child turns 1 year old. The funds can be used to pay for a nanny, assistant, or kindergarten, the prime minister noted.

“Payments for children under 1 year old have been transferred to more than 46,000 families. Since the beginning of this year, the monthly allowance for caring for a child under 1 year old is 7,000 hryvnia,” the prime minister said.

According to Svyrydenko, the government is working to expand the possibilities for submitting applications, in particular through Diya.

“The government is working to expand the possibilities for submitting applications, in particular through Diya. Receiving childcare assistance should be as simple, understandable, and convenient as possible for families,” Svyrydenko said.

In addition, the head of government reminded that other payments are also available: assistance in connection with pregnancy and childbirth and 50,000 hryvnia upon the birth of a child.

On March 2, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine announced that Oschadbank is opening the first special accounts for payments of childcare assistance until the child reaches one year of age and “yeYasla.”

“Childcare assistance until the child reaches one year of age and “yeYasla” are paid into current accounts with a special use regime, opened in an authorized bank. Currently, the first such special accounts are being opened by Oschadbank JSC,” the statement said.

At the request of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the bank has already opened the first accounts with a special use regime for recipients of benefits who have submitted applications since the beginning of 2026. The funds for the payment of these benefits are financed by the PFU.

Recipients who have received notification of the opening of an account will receive a separate notification after the funds have been credited and can contact a bank branch to obtain a card.

To do this, they only need to have their passport and identification code with them. No additional documents are required, according to the ministry.

In the future, other banks will join the process, which will simplify the procedure for citizens, the statement said.

Applications for child benefits can be submitted through the Pension Fund of Ukraine, the Administrative Services Center, or authorized representatives of local communities.

At the same time, according to the ministry, the Ministry of Social Policy, Family, and Unity, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is working to expand the possibilities for submitting applications, in particular through the Diia platform.

Reminder:

On January 1, Ukraine launched the state program “yeYasla” – financial support for parents who return to work full-time and use childcare services.
