Bus imports to Ukraine increased by 30%: who supplies the most

According to Ukravtoprom, citing statistics from the State Statistics Service, 907 buses and minibuses were imported to Ukraine in January-August 2025. This is 30% more than in the same period last year. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukravtoprom.
The total customs value of imported vehicles amounted to $46.4 million, which is 33% higher than last year.
The structure of imports
New buses – 263 units with a total value of $16.1 million.
Used buses – 644 units worth $30.3 million.
Thus, more than 70% of the buses imported to Ukraine were used, which indicates a high market demand for more affordable transport for public and private transportation.
Top suppliers
Turkey became the main exporter of new buses, with 218 units. The country earned $12.9 million from these deliveries. This demonstrates the competitive position of Turkish manufacturers in the Ukrainian market.
Germany is the leader in the supply of used buses – 198 units worth $8.3 million. Ukrainian carriers are actively buying German vehicles because of their reliability and long service life.

What it means for the market
The growth in bus imports indicates
- revival of passenger transportation,
- renewal of fleets of both municipal enterprises and private carriers,
- a tendency to purchase used vehicles to optimize costs.
Ukraine continues to rely on foreign manufacturers, as domestic bus production is not yet able to fully meet demand.
