Espresso Index 2025: where is the most expensive and cheapest coffee in Ukraine

The average cost of a cup of espresso in Ukraine in December 2025 reached 41 hryvnias, which is 17% more than a year ago. The most expensive espresso is now in Lviv region, and the cheapest coffee is in Khmelnytsky region. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to data from Opendatabot.
Coffee prices in Ukraine have risen again: the average price of a cup of espresso reached 41 UAH in December 2025. This is 17% more than in December last year, when a cup of coffee could be purchased for UAH 35. In general, espresso has risen in price by almost 2 times since the start of the full-scale program.
In 2024, the average price for a cup of coffee was 31 UAH.

How the price of espresso has changed
Over the past eight years, the price of espresso has shown a steady increase:

Thus, since 2017, a cup of espresso has almost tripled in price, and since the beginning of the full-scale war, it has almost doubled.
Where is the most expensive coffee in Ukraine
The highest prices for espresso in December 2025 were recorded in the Lviv region – 47 hryvnias per cup. Over the year, the cost of coffee in the region has increased by 19%. For the first time in recent years, Lviv region has topped the coffee rating, replacing the long-time leader, Odesa region.
The average price of an espresso in Odesa region is 45 hryvnias, which has given the region the second highest price for coffee.
Where coffee is the cheapest
For the third year in a row, the most affordable espresso can be found in Khmelnytsky region – 33 hryvnias per cup. At the same time, even here, the price has increased by 18% over the year.
Espresso costs 35 hryvnias each in Zaporizhzhia and Kirovohrad regions.

The highest price increase is in the frontline Sumy region
The highest annual price growth rate was recorded in the Sumy region – 26%. Despite this, the average cost of an espresso in the region is 36 hryvnias, which is still lower than the national average. Last year, Sumy region was among the regions with the cheapest coffee.
Why the price of espresso is important
Espresso is the basis for most coffee drinks, such as Americano, cappuccino, and latte. Therefore, its rising price directly affects prices in coffee shops in general.
