Iran sets a condition for a truce with Israel: what needs to happen

Iran does not plan to continue its military operation against Israel, provided that the Israeli side stops attacking Iranian targets by 4:00 am on June 24. This was written by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on the social network X, [ komersant] reports
In his post, Araqchi emphasized that Israel was the first to launch the aggression:
“As Iran has repeatedly stated: Israel started the war against Iran, not the other way around.”
Araghchi also clarified that no agreement on a ceasefire or cessation of hostilities has been reached so far. However, Iran is ready to stop its response, provided that Israel stops its aggression.
“Provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 a.m. Tehran time, we do not intend to continue our response after that,” he said.
Araqchi emphasized that Tehran will make the final decision on the cessation of hostilities later, having assessed the situation.
At the same time, local media reported that Israel continued to strike Iran. The IDF has not yet commented on this information.
In a subsequent statement, the diplomat confirmed that the Iranian armed forces had stopped military strikes at exactly 4 a.m:
“The military operations of our mighty armed forces to punish Israel for its aggression lasted until the last minute, until 4:00.”
He also thanked the Iranian military for their resilience:
“Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave armed forces who remain ready to defend our dear country to the last drop of blood and who responded to any enemy attack until the last minute.”
As reported, last night, US President Donald Trump said that Israel and Iran had agreed to a truce that would take effect in 12 hours, after which the war would be considered over.
