Iryna Farion dies in intensive care after assassination attempt

Former MP and linguist Iryna Farion died in hospital after an assassination attempt.
This was announced by the head of the Lviv Regional State Administration Kozitsky, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“It is very unfortunate, but despite all the efforts of doctors, they failed to save Iryna Farion. My sincere condolences to the family, friends and students of Iryna Dmytrivna,” Kozitsky said and added that the search for the attacker is still ongoing.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi also announced the death of Iryna Farion.
The tragedy. It became known that Iryna Farion died in hospital. Doctors did everything possible, but the injury was incompatible with life. The community of Lviv expresses its sincere condolences to the family and everyone who knew and loved her. This is very scary and terrible. I always say that there is no safe place in Ukraine anymore. But to have such a brazen, audacious murder. The killer must be found! I am grateful to the law enforcement agencies that are actively working on this. The customer must also be known and be held fully accountable,

Doctors performed primary surgical treatment of the head wound and continued to fight for the life of the wounded woman. However, Irina Farion’s condition was critical.
As a reminder, at around 19:30, an unknown person shot Irina Farion in the head near her house on Masaryk Street in Lviv. She was admitted to hospital in critical condition.
Attempted assassination of Iryna Farion: what the police say
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, wrote on his Telegram channel that the attack on Iryna Farion was classified as an attempted murder. The victim’s condition is serious, and doctors are fighting for her life.
According to the head of the relevant ministry, the police and other necessary services are working at the scene of the shooting. Law enforcement officers already have witness statements and are processing data from CCTV cameras.
Meanwhile, in Lviv, the prosecutor’s office reportedly launched the Interception plan to detain the attacker of the injured politician and linguist.
