reports.
DmytroKapranov was a Ukrainian writer, publisher, publicist, public figure and blogger. Dmitry is the brother of writer and publisher Vitaly Kapranov.
The brothers were born in Dubossary, now Moldova. They spent their childhood in Ochakiv, and received their higher education in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg) and Moscow.

The brothers were involved in Greco-Roman wrestling and music. They completed their higher education in Moscow and Sverdlovsk, studying cybernetics. In 1988, they both married twins and moved to Moscow.
When the Kapranov brothers arrived in Kyiv in 1998, they found what they called a “book famine”. So their first book project was a catalogue of books by mail called Knigonosha.

In September 2019, the Kapranov brothers founded the Taras Shevchenko YouTube channel about the history of Ukraine. In the most popular video, the brothers tell the history of Ukraine in 10 minutes, and the video has received 3.2 million views.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the Kapranov brothers have joined the fight against the Russian occupiers, joining the Azov Regiment and taking part in the defence of Kyiv with arms in hand.
