ISW: Ukrainian troops advance in three districts of Kursk region

The day before, Ukrainian troops resumed offensive operations in at least three areas in the Kursk region and made a tactical advance. This was reported by the Institute for the Study of War, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
ISW cites data from Russian sources that claim that Ukrainian troops
– carried out numerous mechanized assaults on the Berdynsk-Novosotnytsia direction (northeast of Suzha),
– intensified offensive actions in the direction of Leonidovo (southeast of Korenevo),
– conducted an intensified platoon-sized mechanized assault near Pushkarnoye (east of Sudzha).
Geolocation footage published on January 5, in particular, confirms that Ukrainian troops advanced southwest and south of Berdyn and entered the southern part of the settlement.
In contrast, according to the Institute for the Study of War, Russian troops launched counterattacks in an attempt to counter intense Ukrainian attacks southeast of Korenevo and north of Sudzha.
Russian sources also expressed concern about the ability of the Russian military to respond to the use of electronic warfare by Ukrainian units. The point is that the intervention of the Ukrainian electronic warfare system during the Ukrainian assaults in the Kursk region prevented the Russians from using drones in the area.
And what is reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Ukrainian command in this morning’s report limited itself to general characteristics of what is happening in the Kursk region.
“The Ukrainian defense forces continue the operation in the Kursk region. Enemy aircraft are striking with guided aerial bombs on the territory of Russia. As of now (8 am), there are eight air strikes involving 14 guided aerial bombs and 445 artillery attacks. Ukrainian soldiers repelled 47 attacks of the invading army in this direction over the past day,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a statement.
In yesterday’s evening report, it was reported that “the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct operations in the Kursk region, and 44 combat engagements are currently known.” It is the latter figure that gives grounds to conclude that the situation in Kursk region is really hot: out of 177 combat clashes over the past day, 44, or more than a quarter, took place in Kursk region.
