The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has mobilized 100,000 reservists due to the ongoing operation in Iran. Another 50,000 reservists are already on duty.

This was reported by The Times of Israel, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The IDF mobilized 100,000 reservists amid a joint operation with the US in Iran. They were added to the 50,000 reservists already on duty. Ground forces were reinforced on Israel’s borders with Syria, Lebanon, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank.

The rear command mobilized 20,000 reservists, mainly for search and rescue operations. Reinforcements were also sent to the Air Force, Navy, and Israeli Intelligence Agency. The IDF stated that it would provide reservists with all the necessary logistical resources to serve in appropriate conditions.

Israeli and US military operation against Iran

On February 28, Israel attacked the Iranian capital, Tehran. Subsequently, US President Donald Trump said that the US military had launched a “major combat operation” against Iran with the aim of “eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime.” He accused the Iranian authorities of “financing and training” militants in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Hamas in Palestine. According to him, the goal of the military operation is to “destroy Iran’s missile industry and fleet” and “ensure that it cannot destabilize the world.”

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had launched missiles and drones toward Israel and attacked US military bases in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Against the backdrop of the US military operation against Iran, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Paris is calling for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council.

The European Union said it reaffirms its “unwavering commitment to regional security and stability” in the Middle East.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said it was fair to give Iranians a chance to get rid of the “terrorist regime and guarantee the safety of all nations that have suffered from attacks from Iran.”

On February 28, Trump wrote that Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei was dead. This information was later confirmed by the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

On March 1, the IRGC announced that it was launching “the most destructive offensive operation in the history of the Islamic Republic” against Israel and “American terrorist bases.” Trump called on the Iranian regime to abandon these plans and threatened to respond with a “very strong strike.”
