The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has amended the procedure for military registration and conscription. According to government resolutions of 7 June (No. 675) and 16 May 2024 (No. 563), persons under the age of 25 should not be sent to the military medical commission (MMC) for a medical examination, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"

This applies to both those who have a deferral from military service during mobilisation through reservation and those who have completed basic military training. The VLC for persons under the age of 25 is provided for only in case of their voluntary enlistment.

In addition, those who receive a deferral in certain government positions are no longer required to undergo the OPC.

Also, territorial recruitment centres are now allowed to send an electronic request to the National Police for the administrative detention of persons who violate the rules of military registration and mobilisation legislation.

In addition to the changes to the military registration and enlistment office, the resolution amends the procedure for military registration. From now on, registration is possible with a foreign passport by submitting an application through a Ukrainian diplomatic mission. Citizens who have been deregistered due to travelling abroad for more than 3 months have 30 days to renew their registration.
