The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has updated the procedure for crossing the state border. Men between the ages of 18 and 22 will be able to cross the border freely during martial law. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“We are talking about all citizens of the appropriate age. This decision also applies to citizens who are abroad for various reasons. We want Ukrainians to maintain ties with Ukraine as much as possible,” Svyrydenko wrote.
The changes will come into effect the day after the resolution is officially published.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the government and military command to consider the possibility of simplifying border crossing for young Ukrainians.
It should be noted that due to martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine, men aged 18 to 60 are prohibited from traveling abroad. However, there are exceptions for certain categories, such as people with disabilities, parents with many children, volunteers, and male drivers who help transport humanitarian supplies.
This year, in February, the government changed the rules for crossing the border for men, according to which Ukrainian men aged 18 to 60 transporting medical supplies and humanitarian aid will be allowed to cross the border on a general basis.
