The Cabinet of Ministers has amended the Procedure for the payment and delivery of pensions and financial assistance at the place of actual residence of recipients within Ukraine via Ukrposhta. This was stated by the Cabinet’s permanent representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The amendments stipulate that, if technically feasible, pensions may be paid and delivered based on information generated from electronic payrolls without paper documents.

The Resolution sets out requirements for electronic forms/data sets of payment and reporting documents.

According to the Pension Fund, there were 10.210 million pensioners in Ukraine in May. Some 8.153 million people receive their pensions through current bank accounts. Ukrainians most often receive payments from Privatbank – 4.760 million people – and Oschadbank – 2.538 million people.

The remaining 2.057 million pensioners received payments through Ukrposhta. This means that the updated rules will affect this group of pensioners.

Currently, there are 10.2 million pensioners in Ukraine, with an average pension of UAH 5,743. More than 60% of pensioners receive a pension of up to UAH 5,000.

Among the regions of Ukraine, Kyiv has the highest pensions – UAH 7,848. This is followed by Rivne (UAH 7,205), Donetsk (UAH 7,017), Luhansk (UAH 6,525) and Dnipro (UAH 6,333) regions.
