Cabinet of Ministers allocates additional UAH 3.88 billion for construction of fortifications

The government is allocating an additional UAH 3.88 billion for the construction of defensive borders. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, according to Komersant ukrainskyi ![]()
Of these funds, UAH 1.7 billion will be allocated for Kharkiv region, and UAH 1.5 billion for fortifications in Sumy region. Donetsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions will also receive additional resources.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the Government has already allocated almost UAH 30 billion for the construction and arrangement of fortifications.
“We can see the results. We are working 24/7. We are strengthening our defence capability in all areas,”
– shmyhal said.
It should be noted that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently visited Chernihiv region to inspect the construction of fortifications and said that work in some “hot” areas was almost complete.
According to estimates by the Nashi Hroshi publication, while only UAH 0.64 billion worth of fortification orders had been placed for the year before February this year (when the enemy captured Avdiivka), another UAH 17 billion was ordered in just a month and a half after that.
on 2 April, the Cabinet of Ministers announced that it was allocating almost UAH 6 billion more for the construction of fortifications.
Of this amount, UAH 1.1 billion was allocated for the construction of fortifications in Donetsk region, more than UAH 1 billion for Zaporizhzhia region, UAH 1.5 billion for Sumy region, and UAH 300 million and 400 million for Mykolaiv and Kherson regions, respectively.
Fortifications are being built in all regions of Ukraine that border both Russia and the Ukrainian territories it has seized, as well as Belarus.
