The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Pavlyuk from his position as Deputy Minister of Defense

On February 10, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Oleksandr Pavlyuk from the position of First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine. This was reported by the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, reports

The dismissal is connected with Pavlyuk’s transfer to another job, Melnychuk noted.

According to the media, Pavlyuk may assume the position of commander of the Ground Forces instead of Oleksandr Syrskyi, who was appointed commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces.

It should be noted that from May 2022 to February 21, 2023, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavlyuk of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was the Chief of Staff – Deputy Commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Commander of the Kyiv Defense Forces and Means Group. Then he was appointed first deputy minister of defense.

Reshuffles in the Armed Forces

On February 8, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi dismissed the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhnyi and appointed General Oleksandr Syrskyi as the new Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to Zelenskyi, Syrskyi has successful defense experience – he conducted the Kyiv defense operation, and successful offensive experience – the Kharkiv liberation operation.

The President believes that 2024 can be a successful year for Ukraine only if there are effective changes in the basis of our defense, which is the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In addition, Zelensky changed the command of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Anatoliy Bargylevych was appointed as the new chief.
