Canada to provide Ukraine with almost $45 million for energy restoration

Canada will allocate 60 million Canadian dollars (more than 44 million US dollars) to Ukraine for the purchase and repair of energy equipment. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

“Canada is providing the final tranche of its $70 million contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to support Ukraine’s energy needs. Earlier, a $10 million tranche was sent to help Ukraine restore critical infrastructure damaged by Russian strikes,” the statement said.

It is noted that about 50 million (more than 37 million USD) of this amount will be used to purchase and deliver natural gas compressors to Kharkiv region.

“This equipment is essential to restore energy supplies and stabilize the system on the eve of winter,” the Canadian Foreign Ministry emphasized.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Canada has already provided Ukraine with various assistance worth more than $16 billion.
