Canada to provide $2.5 billion in aid to Ukraine, – Carney

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has announced additional economic assistance to Ukraine worth $2.5 billion.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Reuters.

This money will help Ukraine receive funding from the International Monetary Fund, Carney said during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

At a joint press conference, Mark Carney thanked Volodymyr Zelenskyy for meeting with him in Canada at “this crucial moment in the peace process.”

The Prime Minister of Canada noted that now “there are conditions and opportunities for a just and lasting peace,” but this requires “Russia’s desire.”

As a reminder, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Canada Mark Carney on his way to Florida.
