23 March 21:57

Karmel has begun construction of a new manufacturing complex in Khmelnytskyi, where equipment for concrete plants will be manufactured.

Dmytro Kysilevsky, deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee on economic development, announced the start of work, according to [Komersant].

According to him, the company has already purchased a plot of land on the outskirts of the city, where preparatory groundwork has begun.

Investments and Project Scale

The planned investment volume is approximately $10 million.

Key parameters of the future enterprise:

  • production complex area — 18,000 sq. m
  • this is twice the size of the company’s current plant in Khmelnytskyi
  • the new facility will triple production capacity

Currently, the company manufactures approximately 40 concrete plants per year, 30% of which are exported.

What products does the company manufacture

In addition to stationary and mobile concrete mixing plants, the company manufactures:

  • cement silos
  • cement dispensers
  • aggregate hoppers
  • water towers
  • gantry cranes

According to the parliamentarian, over 600 concrete plants in Ukraine operate using equipment from the Khmelnytskyi-based manufacturer.

New production lines

The new plant is expected to expand the product range. Specifically, the following are planned for production:

  • mobile concrete plants
  • waste processing lines

The average level of local production is about 70%, which means a significant share of Ukrainian components.

Government support programs

Part of the company’s products is sold through government support programs for manufacturers under the “Made in Ukraine” policy.

Specifically:

  • equipment for concrete plants is eligible for a 15% reimbursement of the cost of Ukrainian machinery
  • some buyers use grants for processing of up to 8 million UAH

The company is also considering the possibility of including its silos in the 25% compensation program for agricultural machinery.

Demand for construction equipment is growing

The company decided to expand production due to growing demand both in Ukraine and abroad. Among the key export markets is the United States.

Amid preparations for the country’s large-scale reconstruction, other investment projects in the construction sector are also emerging in Ukraine.

For example:

  • the German company Calmit GmbH plans to build a plant in Zakarpattia;
  • an industrial consortium led by Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH is considering building a precast concrete plant in Kharkiv.
