Chief of Staff of Kyiv City State Administration and former head of a municipal enterprise are served suspicion notices of embezzlement of UAH 1.3 million

The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office has served suspicion notices to the chief of staff of the executive body of the Kyiv City Council (KCSA) and the former head of the KCSA Municipal Enterprise, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to the investigation, they, acting in collusion, ordered and paid for repairs to an office building on Borys Hrinchenko Street, which at the time already belonged to private owners.

Almost UAH 1.3 million was spent from the budget for facade and other works, while the utility company did not even have a lease agreement for these premises.

The actions of the officials were classified under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – embezzlement of property on a large scale. The sanction provides for up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property and a ban on holding certain positions for up to three years.

Motions to take the suspects into custody with the possibility of bail in the amount of the damages have been filed with the court.
