Fuel Cashback: Starting March 20, Ukrainians will receive compensation for gasoline, diesel, and autogas

On March 20, 2026, a new government program to support drivers—”Fuel Cashback”—will launch in Ukraine, providing partial reimbursement for the cost of gasoline, diesel fuel, and autogas.
This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
What kind of cashback can be received
Under the terms of the program, compensation will amount to:
- 15% — for diesel fuel
- 10% — for gasoline
- 5% — on autogas
According to government estimates, this will save approximately 2 to 11 hryvnias per liter of fuel.
The maximum refund amount will be up to 1,000 hryvnias per person per month.
How the cashback program will work
The program will operate as part of the “National Cashback” government initiative and is tentatively scheduled to run until May 1, 2026.
You can receive compensation when purchasing fuel at gas stations that join the program. A complete list of these stations will be published on official resources.
How to get cashback
To participate, you need to:
- Open a card with a program partner bank
- Add it to the Diya app
- Select the card for receiving payments
- Pay for fuel using this specific card
If a person is already using the “National Cashback” program, funds will be credited automatically.
What can you spend the money on
You cannot simply withdraw the cashback as cash. It can only be used for specific categories of expenses:
- utility bills
- medicines
- Ukrainian-made products
- books
- postal services
- donations to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Why was the fuel cashback program introduced?
The government explains that the new program is part of a package of measures to support citizens amid rising fuel costs.
According to Svyrydenko, this is a quick aid tool implemented through the existing infrastructure of government services.
Economists note that such programs can:
- partially reduce the financial burden on drivers
- encourage cashless payments
- support the domestic market.
