The fuel cashback program is now up and running: how Ukrainians can get a portion of their expenses refunded
20 March 09:36
Starting today, a “fuel” cashback program has launched in Ukraine. Ukrainians who fill up at participating gas stations will receive up to 15% of the amount spent.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
Ukrainians will be able to receive fuel rebates in the following amounts: 15% for diesel fuel; 10% for gasoline; and 5% for autogas. The cashback will range from 2 to 11 hryvnias per liter, with a maximum monthly amount of 1,000 hryvnias per person.
The “fuel” cashback program will run until May 1 of this year.
How to join the program
To receive compensation for money spent on fuel, Ukrainians must:
- Join the program. To do this, open a special “National Cashback” card at a partner bank.
- Pay for fuel with a card linked to the program.
- Receive cashback and spend it on items from the list of eligible goods.
You cannot withdraw cash from the card—it can only be used for cashless transactions.
When will the money be credited to the card?
Cashback for fuel purchases is credited the next day and paid out by the end of the month following your visit to the gas station.
For example, compensation for fuel purchased in March will be credited to your “National Cashback” card by the end of April.
What can you spend cashback on
Money from the National Cashback card can be spent on:
- utility and postal services;
- charity, support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- groceries;
- medicines, pharmaceuticals, and medical supplies;
- books and other Ukrainian-produced printed materials registered in the “National Cashback” program and sold at participating retail locations.
The Gas Station app is not eligible
If you purchase fuel through a gas station app, cashback will not be credited. Compensation can only be received after actually paying for gasoline or diesel at a gas station and receiving a fiscal receipt specifying the fuel purchased.
