Ukraine has recorded another rise in prices for food products produced in the country. According to the State Statistics Service, in August 2025, wholesale prices rose by an average of almost 20%, but some categories grew much faster.

This became known from the State Statistics Service, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

Meat and meat products rose in price the most – by 23.4%. At the same time, domestic prices rose by 23.8%, and export prices by 12.7%. A significant increase was also recorded in the dairy sector: the overall growth was 17.7%, with domestic production up 18.7% and exports up 5.8%.

Prices for bread and bakery products increased by 15.5%. For the Ukrainian market, the growth was 15.1%, while for external supplies it was 24.2%. Beverages went up by an average of 9.7%, including 10% in the domestic market and 9.4% in exports.

At the same time, there is an exception among the main products. Sugar became cheaper by almost 9% in August, both domestically and on foreign markets.

Experts remind that the increase in wholesale prices of producers eventually affects retail prices in stores. That is, Ukrainians may feel the price increase on the shelves with a delay of several months.
