Kharkiv is partially without power, subway stops in the city

As a result of Russian strikes on Kharkiv and on energy facilities, the city is partially without electricity, a Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/ correspondent reports.

According to the correspondent, Kharkiv has been partially without power since the morning of 5 April. The subway stopped working at 7:30 a.m., but trains resumed running around 9:00 a.m.

According to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, one of the power facilities in Kharkiv region had to be shut down for emergency.

“Today, restrictions are being applied in Kharkiv region – 550,000 customers are without power, including about 330,000 in Kharkiv. One unit of generating equipment has been shut down for technological reasons at one of the thermal generation facilities,”

– the Ministry of Energy said.

Yesterday, Ukrenergo announced the introduction of blackout schedules in six regions, but Kharkiv region was not on the list.

In recent weeks, Russia has significantly intensified its shelling of Kharkiv and the region. In particular, on the night of 4 April, the city was attacked by Shakhtys, which first hit residential buildings and then attacked rescuers who arrived at the scene of the Russian crime in a second wave.

on 22 March, the Russians launched the largest combined attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure during the full-scale war, the consequences of which are still felt today.
