Kharkiv region became the first in Ukraine to abolish the MSEC

Deputies of the Kharkiv Regional Council decided to liquidate the regional center for medical and social expertise. Its employees will be transferred to the regional clinical hospital. This is the first city in Ukraine to take such a radical measure. The decision was made during the session, deputy Galina Kuts posted on Facebook, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“The forensic medical examination center in Kharkiv has been liquidated. The Kharkiv Regional Council voted to terminate this structure by merging it with the Kharkiv Regional Hospital. We’ll see what happens in the end,” Kuts wrote.
Two days ago, the Kharkiv Regional Council held a meeting of the Standing Committee on Health, Maternity and Childhood, which also considered the issue of liquidating the MSEC.
“The MSEC is being liquidated, and expert teams will be created in cluster and supercluster hospitals instead. That is, all the staff of the center will be transferred to the regional hospital, where they will be offered positions of supervising doctors, and they are not allowed to hold other positions. In particular, the heads of all the MSECs cannot be members of the newly created expert teams,” said Tetyana Demenko, director of the Health Department of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
Earlier it was reported that all medical and social commissions in Ukraine will cease to operate by December 31, 2024. This became possible because the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy put into effect the relevant decision of the National Security and Defense Council.
As a reminder, on October 5, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation detained and notified the head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Center for Medical and Social Expertise of suspicion of illicit enrichment.
Prior to that, on October 3 and 4, law enforcement officers conducted a series of searches in the official’s offices and at the place of residence of the official and her close relatives.
In the office of the head of the MSEC, law enforcement officers found $100,000, as well as a number of forged medical documents, lists of “evaders” with fake names and fake diagnoses.
At the home of the official and her relatives, SBI officers found almost $5 million 244 thousand, 300 thousand euros, more than UAH 5 million, branded jewelry and jewelry.
