Who believes in Ukraine: over 3000 new companies opened by foreigners during the full-scale war

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, citizens from 101 countries have established 3,075 new companies in Ukraine. This is evidenced by data from Opendatabot, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Foreign leaders in terms of the number of new businesses
- Turkey – 396 companies (12.9%).
- Uzbekistan – 312 companies (10.1%).
- Poland – 224 companies (7.3%).

The top 10 countries also include the USA, Kazakhstan, Germany, Azerbaijan, Israel, the UK and China.
Geography of investment in Ukraine
- Kyiv: 1517 companies (49.3% of the total).
- Lviv region: 460 companies.
- Odesa region: 273 companies.

It is interesting to note that in Kyiv, citizens of Uzbekistan are the most active in opening businesses (175 companies), in Lviv region – Poles (105 companies), and in Odesa region – Turks (99 companies).

The most popular industries for foreign investment
- Wholesale trade – 30.7%.
- Real estate transactions – 6.7%.
- Computer programming – 5.8%.

Other significant sectors are construction (5.3%), retail trade (4%), general administration (3.8%), transport (3.8%) and social assistance (3%).
Largest foreign investments
- “TENS1MA (owned by a citizen of Armenia) – authorised capital of UAH 1.28 billion.
- JSC “Closed-end non-diversified venture corporate investment fund “Eugene” (owned by a US citizen) – authorised capital of UAH 700 million.
- LFS LLC (owned by a Polish citizen) – authorised capital of UAH 300 million.
Thus, despite the hostilities, Ukraine remains attractive to a number of foreign investors, especially in the trade, real estate and IT sectors. Kyiv continues to be the main centre of attraction for foreign businesses, but the western and southern regions also show significant potential.
