The death toll from the shelling of Kyiv on January 1 has increased. So far, two victims have been reported. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" citing the Telegram of the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) Timur Tkachenko.

According to him, the liquidation of the consequences of the strike on the capital has been going on since the morning.

“Unfortunately, we already have two dead. My condolences to the families and friends,” Tkachenko said.

Earlier [Kommersant] reported earlier that the body of a dead woman was found in a residential building in Kyiv’s Pechersk district damaged by a Russian drone attack.

The rescue operation in the Pechersk and Sviatoshynskyi districts continues.

As a reminder, tonight and in the morning, Russians attacked Kyiv with “shaheds”. The wreckage of the downed drones fell in two districts – Pecherskyi and Sviatoshynskyi.

Thus, the enemy attacked from the directions of the Russian cities of Bryansk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the temporarily occupied Crimea. The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups.

“As of 09.30, 63 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones have been confirmed downed in Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, Kirovohrad and Mykolaiv regions,” the statement said.

Also, due to the active counteraction of the Defense Forces, 46 imitator drones were lost locally (without negative consequences). Two more flew to Russia and Belarus
