Several men aged 18-22 were not allowed to leave Ukraine: what are the reasons?
30 August 22:12
This month, men aged 18-22 were allowed to leave Ukraine, but not all of them were able to cross the border. Some were refused by border guards.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the statement of the SBGS spokesman Andriy Demchenko on the air of the telethon.
As Demchenko explained, the permit does not apply to those citizens who hold a civil service position and who fall under paragraph 2.14 of the border crossing, such citizens are still allowed to travel exclusively on official business.
“And over the past two days, there have already been several cases when guys from this age group decided to go abroad, but they held positions that allow them to go only on business trips,” he explained.
The SBGS noted that in order to cross the border, one must have
- a foreign passport,
- military registration document either in paper or electronic form – “Reserve”.
“There are also several refusals because people were wanted. Because border guards have access to the Oberig system to check whether they are evading updating their credentials. Several citizens were refused because they were wanted,” emphasized Demchenko.
As the SBGS spokesman explained, there is no separate statistics for this age group.
“But, of course, we pay attention to this category of citizens who, starting from the 28th, after the entry into force of the amendments to the border crossing rules, will be given the opportunity to leave Ukraine, this is the category of men aged 18 to 22 inclusive. The analysis shows that there is no massive excitement, as, for example, Russian resources are trying to present that this is a “mass flight,”” he explained.
According to Demchenko, of course, the category of young people of this age has been present at the border since the morning of August 28.
“If on the 28th we paid attention to monitoring the exit, on the 29th we also paid attention to the entry of this category. Therefore, there is a movement of men aged 18-22 years old both for departure and entry. This did not significantly affect the passenger traffic, in fact, it remains as it was before,” he summarized.
As a reminder, on August 27, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine issued a resolution allowing men aged 18 to 22 to cross the border during martial law.
