Restaurateur Yevhen Klopotenko has made a bet with the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Valeriy Zaluzhny. The chef shared the details on Instagram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Within 80 days, Klopotenko has to change Zaluzhny’s attitude to borscht. It turned out that the former head of state does not like this dish.
“Zaluzhnyi does not like borsch. But we made a bet that I will change that. So stay tuned for more news in this case. I don’t know if I can do it in 80 days… but this bet started in London, when I participated in the organization of a charity dinner party… So, it all started with charity, and as a bonus, I have to make Mr. Valeriy fall in love with borsch. Challenge accepted,” Klopotenko wrote.
Klopotenko said that he met Zaluzhny in London during a charity dinner organized by British Ukrainian Aid. The event raised £19,525 (1 million hryvnias). The funds were transferred to an ambulance for evacuating the wounded from the front line, Eco Flow for the military, prosthetics for the defenders and individual first aid kits.

It should be noted that on July 1, 2022, Ukrainian borsch was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Klopotenko contributed to this by organizing an online borsch festival with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.
