Today, at about 19:00, Polish Vice Prime Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that the meeting of the Western Coalition of the “Resolute for Ukraine” had ended.

“I emphasized that for peace to come, pressure should be put on the aggressor, not the victim,” he assured.

President of the European Council Antonio Costa emphasized that transatlantic unity is extremely important at the moment to achieve sustainable peace in Ukraine.

“As I emphasized during today’s meeting of the Coalition of the Resolute, if a ceasefire is not reached, the EU and the US must increase pressure on Russia. Ukraine’s sovereign right to determine its own terms of peace must be respected,” – he emphasized.

At the same time, Costa added that the coalition welcomes the willingness of the United States to participate in providing security guarantees to Ukraine to deter future Russian aggression and jointly ensure a just and lasting peace in Ukraine.

Moreover, he said, Europe is ready to make its contribution.

President of Finland Alexander Stub also took part in the meeting of the Heads of State and Government of the “Coalition of the Resolute” in support of Ukraine.

“There is a strong consensus among the Coalition countries on the need to continue supporting Ukraine. Europe and the United States continue to strengthen their common position. We will continue our joint efforts with Ukraine, our European colleagues and the United States tomorrow in Washington,” he said.

For his part, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala also noted that the videoconference of the “coalition of the resolute” was important for coordination before tomorrow’s meeting at the White House.

“We agreed that the immediate priority should be to stop the killings, and that clear security guarantees for Ukraine from the United States and Europe will be absolutely essential for further negotiations,” he said.
