Kohan wins bronze in hammer throw at European Championships

Ukrainian Mykhailo Kokhan won bronze at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in the hammer throw, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

In the final of the tournament, the Ukrainian showed a result of 80.18 m, which was the best result in Kohan’s career. In the fight for the victory, he lost to Poland’s Wojciech Nowicki (80.95m) and Hungary’s Benze Halas (80.48m).

This is Kohan’s debut award at the continental championships and the fourth for Ukraine in Rome.

The day before, Yaroslava Maguchikh and Iryna Gerashchenko won gold and bronze in the high jump .

The European Athletics Championships will run until 12 June.
