When to expect the heat to ease: the weather forecaster has named the dates

On Monday and Tuesday, 15-16 July, hot and dry weather will continue to prevail in Ukraine, with some rain in some places. However, starting from 18 July, the heat will gradually ease in the regions. This is stated in the forecast of Natalia Didenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Thus, on 15 and 16 July, the temperature in Ukraine will be 33…39 °C, in some places up to 40…42 °C.
Lower temperatures are expected in the western part of the country, where 31…34 °C will prevail throughout the day, and in some places in Zakarpattia and Chernivtsi regions up to 35 °C.
Short-term rains and thunderstorms will occur tomorrow in the western part of Ukraine, and on Tuesday evening, 16 July, locally in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy and Poltava regions.
“Most of Ukraine will continue to suffer from dry, or rather, overdried air. The anticyclonic nature of the weather in Ukraine continues to block the free movement of moist and fresher air masses from the Atlantic,”
– the forecast says.
When will the heat subside?
The heat wave is expected to ease in northern Ukraine on 18 July.
In the south, east and central regions, the heat is likely to ease around 20-22 July.

Weather in Kyiv
Heavy rains are unlikely in Kyiv on 16 July. In addition, the capital will continue to experience a strong heat wave: the daytime temperature is expected to reach 35…37 °C.
It should be noted that from Friday to Sunday, 12-14 July, several temperature records were set in Kyiv every day. Not only the highest, but also the average daily air temperature was a record.
According to the Central Geophysical Observatory, two temperature records were set in Kyiv on 12 July:
- The minimum temperature exceeded the record value of 2021 by 0.8°C, totalling 22.8°C;
- The average daily air temperature of 28.7°C exceeded the previous record high of 1959 by 1.4°C and the climatic norm by 7.5°C.
On 13 July, two temperature records were also set in the capital:
- The maximum air temperature reached 35.4°C, which is 1.3°C higher than the previous record set in 1936;
- The average daily temperature was 29.0°C, the highest since 1951. Thus, the average daily temperature exceeded the climatic norm by 8.3°C.
Temperature records were also set on 14 July.
- The minimum air temperature in Kyiv was 22.7°C, exceeding the previous record high of 1951 by 1.6°C;
- The maximum air temperature reached 35.9°C, which is 2.7°C higher than the previous record high in 1951;
- The average daily temperature was 29.2°C, the highest for this date since 1951.
Ten temperature records have been set since the beginning of the month.
