In a commentary to Radio Liberty, the company said that it was unaware of the employee’s actions, and Bedia herself did not explain her motives, despite the internal investigation. DIM emphasized that they did not participate in the contribution of funds and consider the manager’s actions to be contrary to corporate ethics and damaging to the company’s reputation. Therefore, the group does not plan to resume cooperation with her.

According to Skhemy journalists, Chernyshov’s bail of more than UAH 120 million was paid by several people:

  • svitlana Chernysheva, the minister’s wife, paid over UAH 10 million;
  • Daria Bedia – UAH 44 million;
  • Foravto Tor LLC from Dnipro – UAH 66 million.

The essence of the case

Oleksiy Chernyshov is accused of abuse of office and obtaining illegal benefits on a particularly large scale while leading the Ministry of Regional Development. The case involves the illegal understatement of the value of a land plot in Kyiv for a developer, which, according to the investigation, resulted in more than UAH 1 billion in losses for the state. He is also accused of receiving discounts on apartments and donating a book with Skovoroda’s works worth $1,000.

Chernyshov himself stated in court that he had not received any benefits, had not seen the properties, and had not received any discounts. The defense denies the charges, insisting that there is no crime.
