SOCAR, which operates in Ukraine, has signed an agreement with Russia’s Gazprom. Ukrainians are outraged

Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR and Russia’s Gazprom have signed an agreement to expand their strategic partnership. This is evidenced by a statement by Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.

“The mutually beneficial partnership between Gazprom and SOCAR is developing dynamically. In particular, we are talking about the North-South project and the signing of a comprehensive scientific and technical cooperation programme in September this year. An agreement has been reached to expand a diverse strategic partnership,” Oleksiy Miller

The day before, a Gazprom delegation headed by Miller took part in the events of Russian President Putin’s visit to Azerbaijan. The two presidents also met.

Ukrainians declare a boycott of SOCAR

On his Facebook page, political strategist Oleksiy Holobutskiy reacted to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s hug with dictator Vladimir Putin. “I am sure that Socar should feel that it is not normal to increase profits by cooperating with mass murderers. And he urged Ukrainians to refuse the services of the Azerbaijani Socar.

“After Aliyev licked Putin, every decent person should have ignored Azerbaijani products. Just to explain in such a clear way: hugging a bloody executioner is bad manners, it’s not done, it’s bad and it ends badly. […] I still often visited Socar petrol stations, even though I don’t have my own car. […] I liked to eat the shawarma there. And sometimes I even bought quite good Azerbaijani cognac. But now it’s over. They will do without my hryvnias somehow. They have enough competitors here to give Ukrainians a wide choice,” Oleksiy Holobutskiy

The reaction of Ukrainians to the SOCAR scandal was not slow in coming. The military, bloggers, and ordinary citizens announced a boycott of the company, which signed an agreement with the aggressor country.

There are many petrol stations of this company in Ukraine. I call on our people to boycott this network!!! I also call on Ukrainian business to break all partnerships with this company!!!

There is nothing surprising. KGBist Putin came to visit the son of KGBist Aliyev. There is also a monument to KGBist Heydar Aliyev (the father of the current Azerbaijani dictator) in Kyiv. And SOKAR is a disgrace

I would not be surprised if Azerbaijan increases oil or gas sales after this))

Farewell to the cunts. The Azerbaijani company SOCAR, which has a network of petrol stations in Ukraine, has joined the list of sponsors of terrorism. Who else is filling up at this petrol station?

What is known about SOCAR in Ukraine?

SOCAR is a brand owned by the Azerbaijan Oil and Gas Corporation. In Ukraine, the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan is represented by SOCAR Energy Ukraine. The representative office of the Azerbaijani state-owned company SOCAR in Ukraine was opened in 2008, and currently 57 petrol stations operate in Ukraine.

In the first quarter of 2024, SOCAR paid the most taxes on fuel sales and was the second largest payer of employee taxes.

There were no reports or statements from the company’s Ukrainian representative about cooperation with the aggressor country.
