Who needs to return from abroad to be registered with the CCP

Some categories of Ukrainians who have left due to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Armed Forces must return to update their personal data at the territorial recruitment centres. Unfortunately, updating information online is not yet available for them, reports "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing a speech by Defence Ministry spokesman Dmytro Lazutkin on the air of a national telethon on 4 June.

Lazutkin explained that the data should be updated first of all:

  • men who have the status “Wanted” in the Reserve app;
  • men who were deregistered from the military register in one city when they moved, but did not apply to the CMC at the new place of residence;
  • young men who left Ukraine before they turned 17.

“Young men who have turned 17 must register for military service. This is a requirement, and it also applies to those who are abroad. If these people plan to continue to be citizens of Ukraine and associate their future with our country, they should do so,” said Dmitry Lazutkin.

He also added that the ministry understands that a small percentage of Ukrainians abroad can be involved in mobilisation processes, and not all of them plan to return to Ukraine.

How to register with the MCC

Citizens of conscription age, which in Ukraine is from 17 to 27 years old, must register for military service. To do this, after receiving a call from military commissariats, such citizens must report to the CCC.

To do so, they must submit the following documents:

  • application;
  • passport of a citizen of Ukraine;
  • a certificate of registration with a conscription office.
