The capital of Denmark, Copenhagen, has been recognized as the best city to live in 2025 according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
In this year’s ranking, Copenhagen replaced Vienna, which had held the top spot for three years in a row. The Danish capital scored the maximum 100 points in such categories as stability, education, and infrastructure. This allowed the city to rise from last year’s second place to the first.
Top 10 most comfortable cities to live in in 2025:
- Copenhagen, Denmark
- Vienna, Austria
- Zurich, Switzerland
- Melbourne, Australia
- Geneva, Switzerland
- Sydney, Australia
- Osaka, Japan
- Auckland, New Zealand
- Adelaide, Australia
- Vancouver, Canada
The EIU index analyzes 173 cities based on 30 criteria grouped into five main categories: stability, health, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.
The overall average score of the rating remained unchanged compared to last year – 76.1 out of 100. However, analysts point to a decline in the global level of stability due to the intensification of geopolitical conflicts and social upheavals in the world.
