Every second American business in Ukraine has suffered from Russian attacks

Every second company representing American business in Ukraine has suffered from Russian attacks, but they continue to work and develop.
This was stated by the President of the American Chamber of Commerce Andy Hunder during an emergency session of the Kyiv Security Forum on the situation in the energy and economy of Ukraine, organized by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing a release from the Kyiv Security Forum.
“54% of American business companies in Ukraine have been affected by Russian aggression. For example, McDonald’s in Lukyanivka in Kyiv had to be restored after shelling seven times. But now it is working. Last month, I was in Mukachevo, where two Russian missiles hit a representative office of American business. There were 600 people on the night shift, at 4:30 an air raid alarm sounded, and at 4:37 we arrived. All employees are alive and business continues. Every second company has been damaged by Russian missiles over the past almost four years,” he said.
At the same time, Andy Hunder noted that these American companies that continue to operate in Ukraine now are “the best ambassadors of business.”
“This resilience inspires others. We were invited by the American Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan, they asked us to tell us how business works during a full-scale war, because they also have a neighbor who does not agree with their existence. And here the role of business is very important! After all, American business continues its work and believes in Ukraine,” he emphasized.
The President of the American Chamber of Commerce also noted that business not only continues to work, but also develops.
“Recently, McDonald’s opened its 50th restaurant in Kyiv on the day when there was no electricity in the capital. Why does the business continue? Because certain conditions have been created. If you look at 25 sectors, one of the key ones that Russia wanted to destroy was the banking sector. Even before the first missile hits, there were attacks on the banking system, but we managed to save everything and quickly transfer data to the cloud, where a Russian missile cannot hit. These are companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Oracle. The banking sector is working flawlessly, and this is very important for the economy,” emphasized Andriy Hunder.
As a reminder, Russia launched a missile attack on the American Flex plant in Mukachevo on August 21, probably to prevent the United States and European allies from investing in Ukrainian business.
