To travel abroad, the man “bought” three “virtual” children born in Germany for 6 thousand euros. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

The attention of border guards was drawn to a man at the Mohyliv-Podilskyi railway checkpoint between Ukraine and Moldova. the 26-year-old Ukrainian tried to illegally leave the country, pretending to be a father of many children. To confirm his status, he showed the border guards birth certificates of his three children, allegedly issued in Germany. According to the documents, his twin children were two years old, and the third child was 7 months old.

However, SBGS officers had doubts about the validity of the documents. It turned out that the birth certificates did not correspond to the established samples.

In order to cross the border, the man bought fake birth certificates for his children

The Ukrainian then admitted that the documents were indeed forged. He has no children, and he bought the birth certificates. He communicated with the “seller” via Telegram and paid 6 thousand euros for the fake papers.

Border guards reported the incident to the National Police. They saw signs of a crime under Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine in the 26-year-old man’s actions. It is about forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps.

If the Ukrainian is proven guilty, he faces a fine of up to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes (up to UAH 17,000 – ed.) or arrest for up to six months, or restraint of liberty for up to two years.
