Bitcoin’s rate has plummeted: what to expect from the cryptocurrency next

The price of bitcoin has dropped below $90 thousand for the first time since November 18, 2024. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Bloomberg.
On Monday, January 13, the price of the cryptocurrency fell by 4.4% to $90,199, the lowest since November 18 and well below the peak of $108,316 it reached in December.
Other crypto assets were also in the red: as of 7:50 a.m. in New York, ethereum (a type of cryptocurrency – ed.) fell by 6.6%.
Alex Kuptsikevich, chief market analyst at FxPro, says that the beginning of the new year was not easy for the crypto market.
“The fact that last week’s upward momentum failed to develop and only attracted the attention of sellers adds to the anxiety,” he said.
Kupskevich added that the next low for bitcoin could be reached around $88,000, and a quick pullback to $74,000 is also possible from there.
Analysts also say that the debut of US exchange-traded funds directly linked to bitcoin, as well as President-elect Donald Trump’s open support for the digital asset industry, pushed the cryptocurrency to a record high last year. In 2025, the figures went down. In addition, some financial experts suggest that traders are waiting for certainty after Trump’s inauguration on January 20.
