Exchange rates as of March 30: The hryvnia strengthened against the dollar and the euro

The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for Monday, March 30. The hryvnia has strengthened further against the dollar and the euro, continuing the trend of recent days. This is according to data from the regulator, as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian"

The official exchange rate for the dollar is 43.84 UAH, and for the euro, 50.4861 UAH.

Compared to the previous official exchange rate, which was in effect on March 27, the dollar fell by 4.5 kopecks, and the euro by 12.43 kopecks. On March 27, the NBU set the exchange rate at 43.8850 UAH per dollar and 50.6104 UAH per euro.

What are the official exchange rates as of March 30?

According to NBU data, the following official exchange rates were set for March 30:

  • 1 U.S. dollar — 43.84 UAH
  • 1 euro — 50.49 UAH
  • 1 Polish zloty — 11.78 UAH

The official rates on the National Bank’s website are listed as 43.8400 UAH per dollar, 50.4861 UAH per euro, and 11.7761 UAH per zloty, which are typically rounded to two decimal places in news reports.

What’s happening on the interbank market

On the interbank currency market at the end of the day, the hryvnia was trading at 43.77/43.80 UAH against the dollar and 50.44/50.47 UAH against the euro.

This indicates that the market was also moving toward a slight strengthening of the hryvnia.

The NBU’s official exchange rate affects accounting calculations, customs payments, certain banking operations, and general benchmarks for the currency market. At the same time, the actual exchange rate at bank teller windows and currency exchange offices may differ, as it depends on supply and demand and the commercial policies of financial institutions.
