Kyiv residents will receive 40,000 hryvnia for damaged apartments: how to get help

Residents of Kyiv whose apartments were damaged as a result of accidents on engineering networks will be able to receive a one-time financial aid in the amount of 40,000 hryvnias. The relevant decision was made by the Kyiv City Council. This was announced by the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, on his Telegram channel, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Who is eligible for payment
Financial assistance will be available to Kyiv residents whose homes were damaged after January 1, 2026, as a result of accidents on water and heat supply networks caused by enemy attacks on the city’s infrastructure.
“Deputies have decided to provide one-time financial assistance in the amount of 40,000 hryvnia to Kyiv residents who find themselves in difficult circumstances due to accidents on engineering networks. This refers to damage to homes as a result of enemy attacks,” said Vitali Klitschko.
Additional support for low-income residents
Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration Marina Honda clarified that the payments are intended for people who, due to burst pipes, flooded apartments, or disruptions to heat and water supply, were forced to urgently repair their homes to make them safe to live in again.
In addition to the basic payment of 40,000 hryvnia, low-income Kyiv residents who receive state social assistance and have been affected by the shelling will be able to receive additional financial assistance in the amount of one minimum subsistence level.
How to receive assistance
The payment can be processed by one of the owners or co-owners of the damaged residential property. Support is provided within the framework of the city program “Care. Towards Kyiv residents.”
To receive the funds, you must submit an application to the Department of Social and Veteran Policy of the Kyiv City State Administration and provide:
- passport and taxpayer registration number;
- a document confirming ownership of the dwelling;
- a certificate from the management company, condominium association, or housing cooperative confirming the accident and damage;
- bank details for the transfer of funds.
300 million hryvnia for housing restoration
In addition, the Kyiv City Council decided to allocate an additional 300 million hryvnias for the restoration of Kyiv residents’ housing damaged as a result of Russian attacks on the capital.
