11 November 2025 14:45

Tram, trolleybus and funicular schedules may be temporarily changed in the capital of Ukraine due to planned and emergency power outages. This was reported by the Kyiv City State Administration on Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

“The operation of trams, trolleybuses and funiculars is adjusted in accordance with the outage schedules,” the KCSA said in a statement.

What about blackouts across the country

on November 11, stabilization blackouts will be introduced in most regions of Ukraine. Ukrenergo explains that the load on the power system remains high due to damage to energy infrastructure following Russian attacks.

The capital’s utilities note that the situation is being monitored in real time, and the resumption of electric transport will take place as soon as power is restored.

What the KCSA advises

The Kyiv City State Administration advises to follow the operational updates of Kyivpastrans and take into account possible delays in traffic. In the event of prolonged power outages, minibuses and buses can partially reinforce the directions where trams or trolleybuses stop.

This is not the first time that Kyiv has changed its transportation schedule due to power outages.

A similar situation was already observed in the winter of 2022-2023 after massive shelling of the Ukrainian power grid.

As a reminder, Ukraine is initiating the convening of the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in connection with a new wave of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
