At the UN, Ukraine named three DPRK generals who arrived with soldiers in Russia. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Reuters.

In a prepared statement at a UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday, the Ukrainian delegation said that the three generals are among at least 500 North Korean officers sent to Russia. The two countries also plan to form North Korean troops into at least five formations of 2,000-3,000 soldiers each.

In order to conceal the presence of North Korean troops in Ukraine, they are planned to be integrated into Russian units staffed by representatives of ethnic minorities from the Asian part of Russia.

As an example, Ukraine’s representative to the UN, Sergiy Kyslytsya, cited the “special Buryat battalion” of the 11th separate airborne assault brigade of the Russian airborne troops. The Ukrainian Permanent Representative admitted that in November, soldiers from the DPRK will begin to take direct part in hostilities against the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In addition, the Ukrainian side named the names of DPRK generals who will lead their military in Russia.

Colonel General Kim Yong Bok, senior general, commander of special forces, in particular the XI Corps, also known as the Storm Corps (the media reported that soldiers from this corps have already been sent to Russia). Experts believe that it is Kim Yong-bok who is currently in Russia as a representative of Kim Jong-un.

Colonel General Lee Chang-ho, Deputy Chief of the General Staff and Head of the General Intelligence Bureau. Together with Kim Yong Bok, he often accompanied Kim Jong Un to various events this year, including an inspection of a naval base on the east coast.

Major General Sin Kum-chol, head of the General Operations Directorate. He has been the head of North Korea’s main intelligence service since about 2022. South Korea has accused him of overseeing major cyberattacks to steal technology and currency and imposed sanctions on him. He may take command of North Korean troops in Russia after Kim Yong Bok and Lee Jang Ho leave.
