Latvia allocates EUR 10 million to Ukraine to rebuild and support the Armed Forces

The Latvian government has approved a new package of comprehensive assistance to Ukraine for 2024 worth almost EUR 10 million. The funds will be used to rebuild and support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Komersant ukrainskyi
reports.
It is noted that 5.3 million euros will be used to rebuild Ukraine, and another 4.3 million will be used to support the Ukrainian army through the European Peace Fund.
According to Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratyuk, Latvia is taking care of the restoration and reconstruction of Chernihiv region.
The government’s plan for this year includes the reconstruction of social infrastructure facilities in the region, psychological assistance to women, digitalisation, and consultations on territorial planning and EU integration.
It is worth noting that Latvia has decided to join the Czech initiative to purchase 800,000 pieces of artillery ammunition for Ukraine.
