Kyiv and European countries have no desire to negotiate peace in Ukraine in an honest manner. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking at the UN General Assembly, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports citing Russian media.
“So far, neither Kyiv nor its European sponsors have realized the urgency of the moment and are ready to negotiate in an honest manner,” he said.
According to Lavrov, the Russian Federation has repeatedly offered NATO states “to respect their obligations and agree on legally binding security guarantees.” He emphasized that Russia’s proposals “have been ignored and are still being ignored.”
He also said that Moscow has certain hopes for the continuation of the Russian-American dialogue, especially after the Alaska summit. He added that the Russian side sees in the approaches of the current US administration “a desire not only to help find realistic ways to resolve the war in Ukraine, but also a desire to develop pragmatic interaction without taking an ideological stance.”
on September 25, Lavrov said at a meeting of Group of Twenty (G20) foreign ministers that NATO and the European Union had declared war on Russia through Ukraine and were directly involved in it.
