Lyashko told when work on the restoration of Okhmatdet will be completed

Construction work on the restoration of the multidisciplinary diagnostic and treatment institution Okhmatdet in Kiev should be completed before the onset of cold weather in 2025.

This was told by Health Minister Viktor Lyashko in a TV broadcast, reports "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Ukrinform.

“Until the end of March – early April – the completion of the development of project documentation, although under the contract it is done longer, but the designers go along and involved the entire team of the organization to fulfill our request and make as soon as possible the project. In April we pass all the expert examinations, we start bidding for the builder, in May – early June we should start construction works, which should be completed before the cold weather of this year,” – said Lyashko.

He added that all approvals have also been made for the building, which has a historical value, and special works continue.

Now the key task is to restore as soon as possible those buildings that are involved in the treatment process.

Thus, according to Lyashko, the tender for the selection of the contractor, who must submit at least two proposals for the old surgical building – to demolish it completely and build in its place a new one, or within the existing building to carry out renovation.

“Now bidding, two months to determine which way we go, and also forward to construction,” – said Lyashko.

According to the Minister, an engineering company, which was hired at the expense of the World Bank, is responsible for the control of the process of development of documents. Also within the framework of the Hill project, the World Bank has accumulated a certain amount of money for the restoration of the old surgical building.

In addition, a large number of people provided donations for the rehabilitation of the Innovation Building. Also, the government has accumulated another additional 300 million in case there is a shortage of funds.

“There are no problems with the resource, we are only finalizing the bureaucracy in order to further everything went as quickly as possible,” stated Lyashko.

He explained the reason that the process takes so long, the fact that the corps is innovative and it is necessary to pass all the procedures so that the restored corps is safe for patients.

What about the restoration of Okhmatdet?
Journalists of the project “Nashi Groshi” found out that the tender was won by the company Bud-technologi, which agreed to perform the work at a much higher price than other bidders organized by the charitable foundation “Okhmatdet” (not the hospital itself).

Among the 14 companies that submitted their bids for the tender, Bud-technologi was the third among those that offered the highest prices. Thus, it expressed its readiness to perform the work for 307 million hryvnias. At the same time, other bidders offered to do it much cheaper – from 42 to 286 million. In addition, some other problems were found in the proposal of Bud-technology.

Health Minister Viktor Lyashko said that law enforcers would additionally check the tender for the restoration of Okhmatdet. And then he announced that the charity fund’s tender would be canceled and a new one would be held.

In addition, tenders for engineering and consulting services and technical supervision of repairs at Okhmatdet hospital worth 14 million hryvnias will also be canceled.

Subsequently, the Health Ministry formed and approved the composition of the hospital reconstruction council.
