Iranian leader Khamenei killed, says Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there are reasons to believe that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has been killed.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to Haaretz and Channel 12.
According to Netanyahu, the operation launched in Iran will continue “as long as necessary.” He noted that Israeli citizens will need to be patient. The prime minister also commented on the Iranian leader.
“There are many indications that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in the strike,” he was quoted as saying by the media.
However, there is no concrete evidence or confirmation of this yet. The Iranian authorities respond to such questions by saying that they cannot say anything for certain, or by denying the claims about the death of the leader and other high-ranking officials altogether.
However, it is worth noting that a number of media outlets are reporting that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s previously announced addresses to the Iranian people have been canceled.
The Times of Israel writes that, according to an Israeli official, Ali Khamenei was killed in the morning as a result of an air strike.
Meanwhile, Axios journalist Barak Ravid also speaks of the assassination, citing a source.
“According to a source familiar with the situation, Israeli Ambassador to Washington Yehiel Leiter informed US officials that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed in an Israeli strike on his residence,” the article says.
On Saturday, February 28, Israel and the US launched an attack on Iran to eliminate security threats. The new war effectively began due to negotiations between Washington and Tehran this week, which failed to produce an agreement on limiting Iran’s nuclear program.
After that, US President Donald Trump made a video address confirming that Washington had launched a military campaign to eliminate threats from the current regime. According to him, the main goal of the operation is to protect the American people and allies.
In response to the operation, Iran launched its missiles towards Israel and has already struck US military bases in at least Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Kuwait.
Amidst the mutual strikes, reports are appearing in the media that a number of senior Iranian officials have been eliminated. But as of Saturday evening, such assumptions are only appearing in the media — there has been no official confirmation yet.
