lifecell is raising prices: price hikes could reach 68% on certain plans

20 March 10:26

Starting April 2, mobile operator lifecell plans to raise the prices of a number of legacy rate plans. These are service packages that are no longer available to new subscribers but continue to be used by existing customers. This was reported by the industry community MZU (“Mobile Communications of Ukraine”), according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

Which plans will become more expensive

According to preliminary data, the changes will affect several popular plans, with price increases ranging from 20% to 68%.

Specifically:

  • “Prosto Life” – an increase of approximately 66%
  • “Free Life” – an increase of approximately 20%
  • “Smart Life” – an increase of up to 68%
  • “Zhara Light” – an increase of about 41%.

How prices will change

The new rates are expected to look like this:

“Prosto Life” plan:

  • standard price — from 210 to 320 UAH
  • for identified numbers — from 180 to 270 UAH
  • for ported numbers — from 120 to 200 UAH

“Free Life” plan:

  • standard price — from 425 to 500 UAH
  • for identified numbers — from 375 to 450 UAH
  • for ported numbers — from 240 to 300 UAH

“Smart Life” plan:

  • standard price — from 300 to 400 UAH
  • for identified numbers — from 250 to 350 UAH
  • for ported numbers — from 160 to 270 UAH

“Zhara Light” plan:

  • the price will increase from 195 to 275 UAH

What lifecell says

The operator also confirmed the change in tariff terms in responses to users on social media.

It is noted, however, that the changes apply only to legacy plans, which are no longer available to new customers.

Why mobile service is getting more expensive

Recently, Ukrainian mobile operators have been regularly adjusting the prices of their services.

Specifically:

  • Vodafone and Kyivstar raised their rates by 50–100 UAH at the beginning of 2026
  • lifecell already revised prices for some of its plans in February.

Experts explain this by:

  • rising energy costs
  • network investments
  • general inflation.

Ukrainians are actively switching carriers

According to mobile number portability (MNP) statistics, lifecell gained the most new subscribers in 2025–2026.

Over 72,000 users switched to the operator’s network, while:

  • Kyivstar — about 7,400
  • Vodafone — about 6,900

This indicates active competition in the mobile communications market.
