Liev undergoes polygraph test (video broadcast)

Oleksandr Liev, a former official of the Ministry of Defence accused of organising a scheme to embezzle UAH 1.5 billion, undergoes a polygraph test in the presence of media representatives. The former official broadcasts a video of the event on his Facebook page, reports ![]()
In order to publicly prove his innocence, Liev appealed to the All-Ukrainian Association of Polygraph Examiners and invited journalists to be present during the test.
“ON AN IMPORTANT note: there are two stages of the examination. Since the regulations govern the procedure itself (requirements for the room, protection from any external factors and irritants, etc.), I will take the polygraph twice: in front of cameras and media representatives (i.e. with external factors) and without them. Both videos will be made public. Anyone can compare them,”

Oleksandr Liev was the acting head of the Ministry of Defence department from January 2022 to February 2023, when he was accused of having Russian citizenship and resigned of his own free will. on 27 January this year, the Security Service of Ukraine announced that it had exposed officials of the Ministry of Defence and the heads of the Lviv Arsenal plant in organising a scheme to embezzle funds from ammunition supply contracts worth UAH 1.5 billion. According to media reports, one of the defendants in the case is former Defence Ministry official Oleksandr Liev.
